    Blogging Challenge… Day 3

    3. Your favorite quote The quotes I used for the last blogging challenge are still some of my fave’s. I also like these 2 quotes. “If you care enough for the result, you will almost always attain it.” – William James Paul Walker is/was one of my favorite actor’s. “You know, all that really matters is that the people you love are happy and healthy. Everything else is just sprinkles on the sundae.” – Paul Walker

    Blogging Challenge… Day 2

I’ve lived in 4 states and moved a total of 14 times in my life. I have ancestors from Russia, Poland, Ireland, Sweden and England. I started working on my family tree in April of 2012 and have found genealogy to be really interesting. It fascinates me to know the address, occupation, etc of long ago ancestors. I got to take an AncestryDNA test in April and the results showed that I have 100% European ethnicity. Thanks to House Party for accepting me as a host for the AncestryDNA House Party happening in June. I’m the oldest of 4. I have a younger brother, sister and step-brother. I played the…

    Blogging Challenge… Day 1

    1. Introduction and recent photo I’m Julie, less than a month from turning 35 years old, and living in Manteca, California. I’m single, I don’t have any kids, I’m unemployed and disabled. How fun is my life? I love music. I’m a tv & movie junkie. I need coffee in my life. I am more crafty in my head than I actually am. Meaning I will wake up some mornings knowing that I dreamed of crafting wreaths for my front door or toys for babies and don’t actually do any of that. Or that if I did, the finished product would look nowhere as good as it did in my…

    May Blogging Challenge

Since the exploit wiped out the blogging challenge I’d posted in November I’d like to redo it. When I began that month I’d made a draft of each day’s challenge topics and they are back in my drafts “folder”. I haven’t checked to see exactly how far each of those posts stayed as I’d begun writing out some of them days before they were due. Since it’s already the 2nd, I’ll be posting day’s 1 and 2 later today. 31 day blog challenge daily prompts 1. Introduction and recent photo 2. 20 facts about you 3. Your favorite quote 4. What are you afraid of? 5. 10 songs you love…

    What’s Up Is Down

My mom’s knee replacement surgery was last week Monday and it went well. She was able to come home from the hospital on Wednesday and I’ve been here at her house since then to help when I can. I can only do so much because of my own pain issues, but if she needs her ice pack (or needs it put back in the freezer), wants something to drink, etc I can get it for her. Even though I can only do a little, her boyfriend isn’t doing anything. UGH. He wants me to go home, but if I go he still won’t help my mom so she wants me…

    Hello… again

If you tried to visit over the past 48 hours or so you would have either bumped into a 403 message or saw a website for the Atlantic Coast Fantasy Football League as my web host was migrating and upgrading servers so I got hit with downtime and then the wrong site. Believe me when I say I was confused as hell when I went to check on my site (to see if it was back up as there was not a specific “you’re fixed” time frame) and saw something about fantasy football. lol All is well and good now. Well with that issue anyway. I’m still getting the layout…

    Almost finished?

I “test drove” at least 5 themes before coming back around to the one I was using when my site went splat. All the rest didn’t have the look I wanted (i.e. not enough columns) and some of them were Blogger.com layouts and I’m sure there’s a way to use them on WP, I wasn’t up to taking the time to figure it out right now. I changed up the header *points up*, changed the link colors, gotten Filezilla to work for me again (which wasn’t working due to a separate issue than what broke down WP), and semi-got my head around what else I need to do. I was…

    UGH with a double HELL

UGH! My last post (before this one) shows as being from the end of October instead of being from just a week or so ago. My site got hit by some exploit thing and basically deleted itself. My installation of WordPress was completely gone (but all the files were still there in the file manager). So I had to re-install WP, but the last backup I did of my posts and everything was back the end of October (which, duh, is why that’t the last post). I’m trying to copy those files into the new folders made, but so far I haven’t seen a change. I’m going to try and…

    Wait for it…

Have no fear, I’m still here! lol I’ve been trying to write posts, but nothing seems to stick and I think it’ll just bore everyone because it’s basic routine stuff that’s boring. But, I’m going to be starting a new blogging challenge in November*. I also have an idea for what I think will be either a bi-monthly or monthly post/theme/whatever you’d call it. Still got to work out some kinks on that. *A WordPress issue at the end of April caused me to have to re-install WP and I lost the challenge posted during the month of November. I’ve redone that challenge in the month of May 2014.

    Six Degrees of…

How many degrees are you separated from your favorite celebrity? I am 5 degrees from Lance Bass. Lance Bass. Favorite *NSYNC memeber. Loved him when I thought he was straight. Love him now that he’s come out. Love him and his new fiance Michael. Slightly obsessed with him, but in a good way, not in the “I feel the need to shift through his garbage and see what he ate for dinner 2 nights ago” way. And this is how it goes – ME born to my mother went to high school with Denny whose son is Bryan Greenberg who was in A Short History of Decay (2013) with Emmanuelle…
