My First Memebox & Review!

Beautiful Mess: Memebox Review

As I mentioned in a post around the beginning of February, I saw a review on Youtube for a Memebox and have been wanting to get one. Well later that same day I got an email from Memebox with an offer to good to pass up, so I bought the Colorbox #6 Pastel Hues box. It shipped out pretty fast and I feel like it go to the States fast too. Then it sat at Customs or something for 4 days and I got antsy. lol The closer packages get, the more impatient I get for them to arrive. Finally it got released and set for delivery and then the postal worker (which was a temp that day) noted that he attempted delivery, but nobody was home only I was home, sitting in my living room with the front door open (because sorry not sorry East Coast people, but its been pretty nice and sunny out here lately) and nobody came up to the door. And it was noted that there was a notice left in the mailbox and that wasn’t done either. So instead of letting the guy (not) attempt to deliver the package again, I went out a few days later to pick it up. And it was a pain in the butt to do. For one I’m not driving right now because of some issues, so my mom drove, but the post office was across town and in the opposite direction of everywhere else we had to go for errands that day. Secondly my mom had to go in and get the package for me since I have mobility issues and  not able to walk or stand for very long so me going in would not have ended well. Anyway, she went in to get the package and since the postal worker never put the notice in the mailbox my mom had to walk back out to the car for me to sign a notice to release the package to my mom. My mom tried to complain about the delivery employee to the one at the counter and that employee could not care less. I finally found a way to make a complaint though and am waiting to hear back.

Anywhoo, that is not why you are here. You are here to see the shiny and the makeup, so here it is!

I received 4 products (all of the brand Revecen) and all were full size. I paid $23.97 total for this box (including tax and shipping) and the full retail value is $59.

Beautiful Mess: Memebox Revecen Eye Shadow

Revecen Color Eye Shadow. Available in B102 Pearl Light Salmon and B167 Pearl Turquoise. I received the Pearl Turquoise.

Formulated with various moisturizing minerals, Revecen’s Color Eye Shadows are highly adhesive, water-proof, smudge-proof and produce rich pigment payoff with a long-lasting silky touch. To be worn alone or blend in with complimentary shades.

It does look really blue in the photo above, but it’s actually more green-blue than blue-green. Someday I will figure out how to correctly light my photos!

The color did not come out so well in the picture below, but when you get to the swatch photos of the other items you can see the color more there.

Beautiful Mess: Memebox Revecen Face Control Foundation

Revecen Face Control Foundation. Available colors were #000 Light Yellow and #001 Mint. I received Light Yellow.

This unique Face Control Foundation works to cover up skin imperfections and light up dull, darkened skin tone for a more refined, evenly balanced, and healthier-looking finish. Plus, it contains natural preservatives such as green tea extracts and magnolia extracts, and thus gentle and suitable for all skin types.

I can’t see myself using this as an all-over foundation, but as blemish coverage or to cover up dark circles under my eyes, to use under foundation I think it will work good for me.

Here is the foundation on my hand and the next photo is after I smoothed it into my skin.

You can still see the foundation a bit, but I think it’s because it is on my hand versus my face. It still blended in easily.

Beautiful Mess: Memebox Revecen Perfect Star Powder

Revecen Perfect Star Powder. Available in #03 Pink, #08 Yellow, #10 Light Brown, and #14 Ivory. I received #14 Ivory.

Designed with the perfect mix of color and shine, the Perfect Star Powder creates dramatic light-catching effects and brings instant sophistication to any makeup look. Layer it on top of contrasting eye shadow colors to create unique multi-dimensional effects, or use it alone for instant elegance!

So sparkly! I love it! I can see myself mixing some of this with lotion to make me all glittery. That is if I were to ever go somewhere that I need to be glittery. lol

Beautiful Mess: Memebox Revecen Lip Gloss

Revecen Moisture Shine Lip Gloss. 2 colors were available #02 Peach Orange and #11 Apricot Pink. I received Peach Orange.

Enriched with olive oil, this Moisture Shine Lip Gloss in sheer pink and orange shades create delicately glittering and plump lips while leaving lips super moist and supple without being sticky at all.

It was really orange when I swatched it on my hand, but more sheer and peach on my lips. You can see in the last 2 photo’s the color on my hand versus the color on my lips. And though the card claims it to not be sticky, to me it is. Then again I rarely wear lip gloss, so that could be why I find it sticky.

I’ve read other bloggers reviews of this box and most of them were not excited to get 4 products of the same brand. This is only the 2nd subscription type box I’ve ever received, so I was totally ok with getting products all from the same brand. More boxes down the line I’m sure I won’t feel the same way. I was surprised they were all from the same brand though.

Other than trying out the lip gloss, I have not had a chance to actually use any of these products yet. I am running errands later this week though and hopefully I will get a chance to do my make-up first. It all depends on if I can get myself up and out of bed/awake in time.
